The U.S. Cyber Challenge (USCC) Cybersecurity Workforce Development Division recently announced pre-registration is now open for schools and individuals who wish to compete in the next round of cyber security competition. The USCC is a national coalition of public-private sector entities collaborating to enhance the workforce with the next generation of cyber security professionals through skill development activities, mentoring, and resources, and the facilitation of scholarship, internship and employment opportunities.
Last year, California had the highest scoring school in the country in the Spring pilot competition and several of our students scored in the top ten in the individual standings. The competition emphasizes a mastery of knowledge in topics central to information security and provides awards and recognitions for the competitors. The time commitment required to facilitate your students’ participation is relatively small; the value in return is significant, as it offers you the opportunity to engage students in one of the most dynamic and in-demand career fields today.
