California’s Cyber Security Champions!

We want to congratulate our students for showing us and the rest of the country their expertise in tackling difficult, real world problems in cyber security. Round Two, which focused on operating systems, is now over and we give a special shout out to those that have done especially well as individuals and at the school level. California stands out as the state with the highest number of students entering the competition!

Go Wildcats!

Once again, Brea Olinda High School has distinguished itself as the highest scoring school in the country! The Wildcats have now taken Round One and Round Two and other schools are taking notice.

Students from Narbonne High School and Santa Susana High School also did very well in the competition and showed exceptional mastery of the test.

Go Warriors!

But we have more good news to report! Mission San Jose High Schoolhad THREE students place in the top ten individual standings and took first, second and fifth place for high scores by an individual student! These three students came in first, second and fifth out of 472 other competitors and proved that they were the masters of operating system know-how.

As Californians, we all feel proud of the fact that we lead the nation through participation in this competition AND success. This shows we are aware of the importance of cyber security and the need for all of us to learn how to safeguard our computers and networks from hackers and others who might wish to disrupt our information security.
