As we move toward an ever-more computing-intensive world, students must have a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of computer science to be prepared for the jobs of the 21st Century.
Recognizing the importance of having students who are able to access, evaluate, use and integrate information and ideas effectively, the State Board of Education adopted a model set of library standards as guidance forCalifornia’s schools.
Special thanks to the California School Library Association (CSLA) for their leadership in getting these standards adopted and for their support of California’s teachers and students.
Do you currently teach to these standards? If not, think about how you can incorporate them to positively affect student achievement. Since Standards and Guidelines for Strong School Libraries is now out-of-print and out-of-stock, CSLA is making it available in PDF format for free, with book marks and active hyperlinks.
