There is growing interest and advocaty from the Computer Science Teachers Association and others to strengthen K-12 computer science education.
New legislation, supported by the Computing in the Core advocacy coalition, was introduced this week in Washington, DC. The Computer Science Education Act was introduced in the US House of Representatives. Several California Representatives are supporting this legislation.
Computing in the Core is a non-partisan advocacy coalition of associations, corporation, scientific societies, and other non-profits that strive to elevate computer science education to a core academic subject in K-12 education, giving young people the college and career-readiness skills necessary in a technology-focused society.
