Google RISE award applications are now being taken to help promote computer science education and for initiatives that reach girls, underrepresented minorities, and students facing socio-economic barriers under age 18.
RISE Award recipients receive:
- Funding: Grants range from $15,000 to $50,000 USD.
- Access to a global network of CS partners: This includes an invitation to the annual RISE Global Summit and participation in the Google+ online community.
- Consultancy with Google experts and volunteers: Learn about technical tools & organizational development over the course of 12 months.
Courses/programs targeting elementary/middle/high school students are eligible for funding if they have a reach wider than just one or two schools. RISE awards may not fund courses or programs that are eligible for college credit.
See: http://www.google.com/edu/programs/google-rise-awards/ for more information. Proposals are due September 30th.
